Troubleshooting

Before getting started it is a good idea to call our monitoring station at 1-888-488-9491 and request they put your system on test and ignore signals.

The devices have either a raised catch or thin slot on one end.  Usually at the top.  Depress the catch or use a thin screwdriver to twist the cover open. Please note that under the battery is a tamper switch so do not push a screwdriver or tool under the battery or you might break the switch.  The batteries should come out easily.

Once you have replaced that battery replaced the cover and make sure it snaps back on securely.

When you go back to your keypad, should the low battery message still be there simply disarm your system twice and the fault should clear.

5816 Window/Door sensors, motion detectors and Smoke detectors all take Lithium CR123.

5811 Slim window/door sensors take CR2032 coin cell batteries.

5800 Mini window/door sensors take CR2032 coin cell batteries.

4-Button Remote take DL2025 batteries.

To clear a fault on your panel, disarm your system twice. It is important that you do this without pausing in between.

Push button keypad

Enter the following:

• Your 4-digit code
• The number 6 (bypass button)
• Two-digit zone number of the zone you want to bypass (01, 02, 03, etc)

Repeat this process for all zones you would like to bypass

PLEASE NOTE: Once your system is disarmed, the process will need to be repeated in order to arm your alarm system again.

Touch Screen keypad

1.  Press your HOME button below the touch screen.

2. Go to "security".
3. Go to "zones".
4. Select zone/s that you need bypassed.
5. Touch "Bypass" at the bottom of your screen.
6. Enter your 4-digit code.
7. You are now ready to arm your system.

PLEASE NOTE: Once your system is disarmed, this process will need to be repeated in order to arm your system again.

Vista keypad

Enter the following:

• Your code + BYPASS (6) + 2-digit zone number(s) for zone(s) to be bypassed (e.g. 06, 10, 13 etc. Single digit zone numbers must be preceded by a zero e.g. 05, 06)

PLEASE NOTE: Once your system is disarmed, this process will need to be repeated in order to arm your system again.

Open your TC app, click on “Problems signing in” and follow prompts.

Push button keypad

Enter the following:

FUNCTION (#) + CHIME (9)

The CHIME message displays while chime mode is on, and disappears from the display when chime mode is off.

Touch screen keypad

From the Home screen, go to:

Settings, Select the Chime icon, volume can be adjusted with the toggle. Select save to finish.  

Vista keypad

To turn chime mode on enter:

Your code + CHIME (9). The chime message will appear.

To turn chime mode off enter:

Your code + CHIME (9). The chime message is disappear. 

Push button keypad

To add a user code enter:

MASTER CODE + Code (8) + user number (2-digit number e.g. 05) + new user’s code

To delete a user code enter:

MASTER CODE + CODE (8) + user number (2-digit number e.g. 05)

Wait about 3 seconds until the keypad beeps once before pressing any other key. They code is automatically deleted.

Touch screen keypad

To add a user code:

With system in disarmed stated, select:

“Tools” icon from the second page of the Security screen. The system will display the Keypad screen.

Enter your 4-digit Master User Code. The system displays the Master User programming screen.

Select the “Users” icon. The system displays the Master User Screen.

Select the “Add New” key. The system displays the User screen.

Note: **** Following a User name indicates that a valid 4-digit User code has been assigned to the user.

Select the “Name” key, the system displays a keyboard.

Enter the 4-digit code for the new User followed by “Done”. They system returns to the Users Programming screen and the new User is displayed and along with ****.

Vista keypad

To add user code enter:

System/Partition MASTER CODE + 8 + user number + new user’s security code

The system will beep once to confirm that new user was added

To delete a user code enter:

System/Partition MASTER CODE + 8 + user number + #0

View/Join available WiFi networks:

• At the Master User screen select the WiFi config icon. The system displays the WiFi options screen.
• Select the “Scan Access Points” button to view the available networks. The available networks are displayed. Use the "Down" arrow to scroll to the next page of options. Use the "Up" arrow to return to the previous page.
• Select the desired Network and then select the “Edit” button. The network information is displayed. If a password is required, select the “Key” button and enter the password.
• Select the “Join” button. A confirmation screen will be displayed.
• Select the “Save” button, then select the "Back"  button as required to return to the Master User screen.

Manually join wifi network:

• At the Master User screen select the Wifi Config icon. The system displays the WiFi options screen.
• Select the “Manually configure AP” button to view the available networks. The WiFi enrollment screen is displayed.
• Select the “SSID Name” button and enter Network name on the displayed keypad.
• Select the “Security” button and select from “Open”, “WPA1”, “WPA2” and “WEP”. The network information is displayed. If a password is required, select the “Key” button and enter the password.
• Select the “Join” button. A confirmation screen will be displayed. Select “OK”, then select “Save” to confirm the selection.
• Select the "Back" button as required to return to the Master User Screen.
